Progress worth protecting

Health Canada reports youth past 30-day vaping fell to 6% in 2024, a 60% drop from the 2019 peak. Prevention work in schools and communities is part of that story.

The remaining gap

The same report says youth report vaping products are easy to get, including online, and that illegitimate retailers remain a concern. National health groups also cite 27% of Grade 12 students vaping.

Our position on Bill 208

  1. We support strong youth protection.
  2. We support continued school resources such as those listed by Healthier Together Schools.
  3. We withhold support for Bill 208 until it includes AGLC-style enforcement and controls on online and illicit supply.

School resources are listed by Healthier Together Schools.
