Youth prevention needs more than product labels

Healthier Together Schools now points schools to CANVAS and a school-property toolkit for addressing vaping products on school property. That is practical prevention work that can operate now, regardless of the Bill 208 timeline.

The data prevention advocates should ask for

  1. Where students say products came from.
  2. How often products are purchased online or through informal sellers.
  3. What happens after school-property incidents.
  4. Whether enforcement reports connect school findings to sellers.
  5. Whether supports are offered to students who already use nicotine.

Conditional support is stronger than blind support

the September 24 transcript shows Bill 208 consideration was deferred. Prevention groups can use that time to demand source data and an enforcement plan before backing a restriction that illicit sellers could exploit.
